If you think stinging nettles are a nuisance in your garden, think again. Some species of butterfly lay eggs on them; nettle tea is a great restorative, and nettle soup a nutritious meal.
By carefully cutting them, dropping them into water, stirring thoroughly and waiting a week or so they will also produce nature’s own liquid fertiliser. Be warned, though, you’ll have to dilute the rich black liquor. It’s quite a powerhouse!
