Instead of taking steps to address our challenges and build our dreams, we avoid and procrastinate. We don’t make an effort to meet a new partner, find a new job, or get an article published, and gradually the wall of comfort in our comfort zone starts to wear thin. It’s ironic that our efforts to stay in our comfort zone eventually create a very uncomfortable place to live.
When we are snug in our comfort zone we don’t need to adapt very much to conditions and circumstances because everything stays pretty much the same. But when we dare to pierce through the walls of our cocoon in order to accomplish something meaningful, or important to us, we must adapt to the needs of the situation. Not only do we accomplish what we set out to do, but we also become stronger, wiser and more capable as a result.
