"I value my garden more for being full of blackbirds than of cherries, and very frankly give them fruit for their songs." Joseph Addison.
I love to attract the birds into my garden. I have a pergola outside my sitting room window which I use for hanging things to entice the birds to come closer. And I like to just sit and watch. I also love pretty china and thought this cup and saucer would make a novel bird feeder. I use my Dremel for putting holes in china and pots. My glue gun is great for sticking the cup to the saucer. I've filled the cup with water and put seed around the saucer. Who needs expensive (and often ugly) feeders!
I've also been out in the Erddig Country Park collecting sheep's wool and putting it in a nest box for the birds to collect. It's always popular for lining nests. A black bird has been regularly visiting too, slowly shredding a piece of rope (an old dog toy). They are a joy to watch.
