A weakness found in altogether too many people is the habit of measuring everything, and everyone, by their own impressions and beliefs. People with thought habits steeped in misery and defeat have no ambition, and they can’t see the potential in other people either, so will try and bring them down to their level.
Many people’s lives would be different if they stopped allowing other people to dilute or poison their day with their words or opinions. But it’s hard to stand strong and believe in yourself and continue your journey through your day without attachment to the validation of others.
If you’re not what someone else wants you to be, they can become angry, and try to change you. Everyone seems to have a clear idea of how other people should lead their lives, but none about his or her own.
Protect your enthusiasm from the negativity of others.
